If we are chosen as adoptive parents, we promise to love the child unconditionally, keep them safe, and encourage them in all that they do. We hope to have an open adoption, but we can understand if you are not comfortable with that type of arrangement. We would love to listen to your thoughts and needs as you decide what works for you.

We love to travel, and we usually camp and hike on our trips. In the summer of 2020, we drove to see Jenny’s sister in Portland, OR, and visited eight national parks. We also went on a backpacking adventure with our friend over spring break and hope to go backpacking in Colorado soon. Every time we go on a trip, we always say to each other, “a child would love this!” We think it’s important to foster a sense of adventure, and exploring the outdoors is a great way to do that.

Both of us are the oldest children in our families. Alex has one brother, and Jenny has two brothers and a sister. We both have large extended families that we see as often as possible. Alex’s parents are looking forward to becoming first-time grandparents, and Jenny’s family is very supportive and excited about welcoming another grandchild into their lives.

We moved close to Kansas City shortly after getting married in 2014, but we didn’t find our dream house until 2015. It was important to us to find a house with a good kitchen because we both like to cook. We have a sunny front yard for our garden and a fenced backyard for the dogs to play in. The backyard will be perfect for a child to play.

Jenny is a sweet, attentive, and caring person. She is able to apply these qualities as a teacher. She loves her job and is amazing at it! She cares deeply for all of her students, and I have a lot of respect for her ability to remember little details about every one of them.

I love watching her with our nephews. She is so interested in what they have to say and knows how to inspire them and make them curious. Seeing her interact with children, whether it’s her students or our family, affirms my belief...

The thing I love most about Alex is that he is willing to try just about anything. He loves learning about other’s interests and always puts in a genuine effort to understand. I grew up camping and in the time we have known each other he has embraced my love of sleeping under the stars and usually builds a fire for us to enjoy.
